Kevin Quigley, President

Kevin is currently the Director of Sales & Marketing for Redwood Terrace, a part of Redwood Senior Homes and Services in Escondido. Previously he was Community Relations Coordinator, which allowed him to help support the Joslyn Center of Rancho Bernardo with many of their fundraising activities such as the golf tournament. He gives his time to many local organizations, such as The Angel's DEPOT (a senior food program), Meals-on-Wheels, and the Salvation Army homeless shelter. He is honored to join the board and continue to provide support and guidance to the programs that enrich the lives of our seniors and make Rancho Bernardo such a wonderful community.

Daizel Gasperian, Vice President

Growing up, Daizel was surrounded with family members working in various healthcare professions -- so it was natural for her to follow with family tradition. Daizel obtained a B.S. in Biology with a Minor in Business Administration from the University of California at Irvine. She then earned an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, with an emphasis in Health Care Administration. She began her career working as a Marketing Director for a skilled nursing facility. She obtained her Nursing Home Administrator license in 1997. In 2004, Daizel joined Silverado Senior Living as the Administrator for the Escondido community. She became a proud board member for RB Joslyn in 2006.

Kathleen Smith, Treasurer

Kathleen is the COO for Centre For Health Care in North County. She is responsible for the daily operating systems, and maintains linkages with the community through community, civic, and professional organizations such as the American College of Healthcare Executives, of which she is a Fellow.
Kathleen holds a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. degree in Administration from Columbia University. She has held positions in healthcare on the faculty of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, large medical centers and physician group practices.
She has two children and three grandchildren and plays tennis with great enthusiasm and little skill. |
Michael Farrell

Mike is a Certified Financial Planner and Vice President with Merrill Lynch in Rancho Bernardo. He is an active member and past president of the Los Rancheros Kiwanis Club, past president of San Rafael Men's Club and has served on the RB Chamber's Board of Directors. Mike has come to appreciate the senior years as an important and vibrant life phase and believes that it's critical for all seniors, especially those who are retired, to have a multitude of activities to stimulate the mind and body. He is pleased to be a member of the Center's Board of Directors. Mike and his wife, Nancy, reside in Rancho Bernardo with their two sons.

Juanita Hawkins

As the wife of a career officer in the United States Air Force, Juanita Hawkins has had the chance to travel the world. She lived in England and Turkey for almost six years with her late husband, and spent a summer traversing the globe with her family. She has also traveled to Germany often to visit her son, who serves in the U.S. Army, as well as crew with him on his hot-air balloon trips. On the local side, Juanita serves as Vice President of the Penasquitos Townhouse Owners Association and the President of the Doubletree Golf Resort Women's Golf Club. Juanita has been a volunteer at the RB Joslyn Center for 14 years. She is a 35-year resident of Rancho Penasquitos.
